About Us
We started with an aisle in a convenience store. I begged my husband for some
shelf space for a few little gift items. But I kept finding more and more really
cute, 'gotta have' things and even though I redid the shelves every week, there
was always room for more. Finally, after I had taken over the entire aisle and
added a four-sided rack and cards, he said to me, "Why don't you just open your
own store?"
OK. (Big grin!)
So, at this same time, I had this friend who had owned a floral shop for 20
years before he went into teaching. He missed the fun and creative outlet of
floral design. He kept telling me how creative I was and how much he wished he
could still do designing. He offered to teach me design tips and work after
school and Saturdays, so after putting all our heads together, we opened
Impressions Everlasting on July 1, 2005. WOW!
Pinch me, I'm dreaming. People actually thank me for doing what I love to do! We
get compliments from customers daily and the best ones are when they get so
excited they get on their cell phones right then and call their friends to tell
them about the store!
By May of 2006, we'd outgrown the 900 sq foot location and moved one door west
to nearly a 2000 sq foot area. Finally we have a storage room, an office and a
full sized 'silk room' for our permanent botanicals! We even have bonuses like a
full-size refrigerator, dishwasher and kitchen sink! This makes our .Sample
Saturdays. - when we offer tastes of our food items - so much simpler. In the
winter, I can even mix up hot beverages for each guest to sip on while browsing,
serve them in real mugs and just run the dishwasher before leaving for the day.
We're just a little shop, family-owned and operated, located in a small city in
western Kansas. We believe in quality, honesty and value for the dollar. We
believe in hard work and loving what we do. We'd love to make a million dollars,
but would rather make a million friends. Together, we'll keep the door open and
lights on. Stop on in!
